İç İçe, which means “intertwined” or “interwoven” in Turkish, is a festival for new Anatolian music. Our showcase demonstrates that sounds and words echo loudly across borders, contributing to the cultural merging of different spaces and biographies.
With KafaNar & İpek İpekçioğlu, we present two acts who know how to reinterpret cultural fragments of their origins in a personal way and thus create space and a voice for themselves in the societies that are home to them. By locating our showcase at Berlin’s Club Mensch Meier, we also demonstrate what we believe belongs together: migration and club culture.
